April 15th has come and gone. The Cupit family is still intact. Maren spent Thursday and Friday remembering and readjusting to life as an all-day mom. Laurel and Brant were home from school on spring break this week, so Thursday and Friday were an opportunity for together time.

Papa K brought the kids home on Thursday morning. They enjoyed a 3 day vacation at their grandparents' house so that Maren could finish up the tax season. What a wonderful blessing. After they came home, Maren attempted to be a "good mom." She and the children read some books, played some board games, played outside, and even took a walk around the neighborhood. Admittedly, she did glance at the clock a few times for a mental countdown to naptime.

Friday, Maren decided it's a lot easier to keep the t.v. turned off if the family gets out of the house. Off to the strawberry patch they headed. What a great place, and a great trip. "Ms. Heather" has plenty of activities for the kids and even benches for the moms to sit. The Cupits saw a few friends at the patch, too. They brought home half a flat of strawberries and a mason jar of homemade strawberry jam. The thought crossed Maren's mind that she could maybe make the jam herself, and then very easily and guiltlessly the thought left. She did get an assortment of other fruit at the produce market to make a knock-out fruit salad, though.

Pictures below include the milking cow (with water for the kids to milk), the horse swings, the tractors, the animals, the strawberries and more.

I wish we could have come. It looks like a lot of fun. I'm glad you can relax some and enjoy those adorable kids more, now that tax season is over!

Looks like fun! Where was the patch? I think my kids would love it too.

Yum! Fresh-picked strawberries are so delicious! And so early in the new. It must be nice to live in the south.

Hurray for tax season being over! That means you'll be posting more than ever, right? ;-)

I can't get over how big Laurel and Brant are getting! They sure are cute kids.

And fresh strawberries! If I could ever find rhubarb in the grocery store, I would make a strawberry-rhubarb pie in a heart beat. Yum.

Mar - SO glad the 15th has come and gone for you! Sounds like you celebrated in style :) Have you caught up on sleep yet?

Anyway, I'd love to catch up whenever you have a chance. It'll be great to hear how you all are doing.
